Faktureringsdags!
Det har varit en sjuhelvetes jobbig månad med sena kvällar och högt tempo. Men jag vet att jag ska vara tacksam över att jag har jobb. (För två år sedan trodde jag att jag skulle behöva lägga ner företaget.) Att få skicka fakturan nu blir plåster på såren för allt överarbete, som jag ju egentligen inte alls vill ägna mig åt. Livet går i vågor.

@plonerma They’re talking about what they are offering as part off their service as an email provider, and specifically this page is talking about the drawbacks of using their service. It’s actually one off the funniest and most honest pages where an organisation explains why I shouldn’t their own service that I’ve seen.
This section ends with:
"If you are interested in real encryption and absolute security for your Santa letters, please use end-to-end encryption tools such as GPG with your correspondents or pull locally all your messages periodically (e.g. via POP3) and encrypt them yourself on your local device."
Here’s a thing that is not often said out loud about e-mail encryption, courtesy of Migadu:
"Email as we know it and encryption are incompatible. If someone is telling you otherwise, they are not to be trusted.
Email is built on top of plain text protocols and messages flow in plain text. If you encrypt, you cannot scan for spam or viruses, index messages for searching or recover messages when a password gets lost. Not to mention the usability issues of changing passwords / encryption keys.
This cannot be fixed, at least not any time soon without breaking the protocols on which email relies.’

We know some email providers automatically encrypt messages as they arrive using users' public keys. That sounds exciting but in practice it does not really prevent the provider from accessing the mails. It only makes email less usable, less standard and more tied to that provider. I love this Pro/Cons page on Migadu so much. Just telling everything like it is:

You know what’s really innovative? Not running after AI like everyone else.
Technology is not moving too fast. It’s moving too narrow-mindedly. It feels fast because you have no distance to the walls. Imagine tearing down those walls and seeing all the possibilities.
That’s innovation. Or just healthy curiosity.
Vi brukade ha mer långtgående debatter i det offentliga innan vi klubbade lagar som tar oss allt djupare in i samma övervakningssamhälle som Kina, intrång i privatlivet som vi en gång i tiden hade som skräckexempel.
Nu godkänns lagarna en efter en efter en. Man blir tagen på sängen. Bevakningen av allt som händer i USA känns som en stor avledningsmanöver även för Sveriges inhemska utveckling.
Som Oisín Cantwell skriver, rätten till ett privatliv är en mänsklig rättighet. Men oerhört många verkar ha glömt varför.

@ainali I tend to agree with you… this will always be a matter of debate, and when pondering other words I feel there are none that easily capture the essence of my intent. And to be fair, the conversation about this is welcome.
I may consider ”probabilistic content” with the risk of confusing everybody. 😅
Just drew two small labels I plan on putting up in my website footer. I drew the first one and realised I didn’t only want to force the negative framing. And so I drew the second one 😁

Very weird bug in Ghost... All of a sudden all the body text in the editor is grayed out. Everything still functions, and I can edit the text, but it's very hard to see(!)
What could be going on here?
* This is happening on all posts.
* It's happening in more than one browser.
* It's only happening for one of my Ghost installs (http://axbom.com), the others are still fine
* The text on the published site is fine, and everything looks good in previews
Any ideas are welcome.
Reports of content moderator trauma have been running in mainstream media since at least 2014. And some of these reports reference events 10 years prior. In essence, many of us have been failing these people for at least two decades by not keeping companies accountable and continuing to support their products.
That's a hard pill to swallow, but these days I believe we need more uncomfortable honesty for any type of change to happen. Acknowledging our own role in all of it can only be a good thing going forward.
This largely hidden sector of the social media and AI industries is only growing.
