Life has become about fending off a barrage of absolute shite. Blocking spam, ads, notifications, profiling, scams, phishing, quishing, sales calls, popups, slop, and also now in-your-face sickening "AI" in every single fucking interface.
It's not information overload, it's information assault.

I bet NPR use "AI" for their transcripts, which adds an extra layer of irony.

@rkaj I was trying to do exactly that yesterday and it didn’t get it to work in all browsers, and then I just decided against it in the moment to make it consistent across browsers. I don’t think I’ve fully decided yet one way or the other but I kind of like the friction that this imposes, because it lets people think more on what is actually going on.
@rkaj I may have missed it but are you not using the youtube-nocookie domain? I know it’s only partially useful but are you just not bothering with it on purpose perhaps?
So I built this web page for privacy-enhanced sharing of YouTube videos. You can try it too. In the footer, click "Convert url" and you can paste the url of any YouTube video. It will convert to my url and you can copy the link or visit the page right away.

If you're unclear on why you have to load the video before you can play it it's because the first load only loads the image, title and channel name to make the page itself load much faster.
The person viewing is then allowed to make a more considered choice before activating the video. Perhaps you want to open the link an incognito window instead for example.
One great bonus to this embed is that it shows way less ads, if any.

Idag är det 10 år sedan jag första gången höll mitt blixttal ’Det osynliga problemet med sagolika användarupplevelser’. Det var alltså den 16 oktober 2015 på UX Open, arrangerat av Martin Christensen.
Jag ser ofta det som startskottet för mitt arbete inom digital etik. All den fina återkoppling jag fick av er som var på plats och lyssnade gjorde att jag ville satsa än mer på att belysa det som går fel med digitala tjänster, även när vi tror att vi arbetar på rätt sätt. Och jag har se’n dess lagt oräkneliga timmar på att skriva om, och lyfta fram, de osynliga skador som vi sällan tänker på, eller inte ”tillåts” adressera.
Min blogg blev sig aldrig lik efter det. Och jag hittade på sätt och vis mitt kall. Det var häftigt.
Och jag är så innerligt tacksam över allt det stöd jag får i form av pepp och fina ord när jag skriver.
Så…

@jackeric That’s what I do, but I also see the problem in hybrid work meetings in conference rooms. Definitely something I also recommend, but alas not everyone has multiple monitors.
The way people share their screens in online meetings has to be a critical security issue in many organisations. Inadvertently showing their calendar or email, or demoing other sensitive content while the screen is being recorded – I’ve seen it all. Many employees need a primer on how to share their screen in a safe and responsible way.
