Even a multi-million [insert currency here] failed project can bring value, but only if you recognize the failure and share your learnings in a structured manner. Hiding the failure would only be your next failure.
The keyword in Artificial Intelligence is "artificial". Intelligence will be hard to guarantee. More common than AI will likely be artificial dumb-assery and artificial bias. People will of course still call it AI.
