Apropå det här med alla som badade på Uppsala station när den svämmade över. Om du någonsin hamnar i en sådan situation bör du tänka på att vattnet lätt kan bli strömförande. Alltså ett exempel på när civilskyddet fungerade tveksamt och beredskapen var sisådär. Glad förstås att det gick bra och att alla mår bra.

Attitudes are not binary. I can for example express approval for a campaign without necessarily supporting everything else that organization does.
I think this is what Twitter does worst: aid the perception of people as beings with a plethora of animated attitudes and feelings.

Branden i norra Kalifornien har nu vuxit till över 36 000 hektar, vilket är större än Sveriges samlade bränder i år. Endast 5-10% är under kontroll. Fem personer har omkommit och 40 000 personer har evakuerats. På lördagkvällen hade 536 byggnader förstörts, 117 skadats och nästan 5 000 hus/byggnader är fortsatt hotade.
Sverige och Kalifornien är ungefär lika stora till ytan. Kalifornien har dock världens största egenägda flotta med flygburen brandbekämpning, med 50 flygplan och helikoptrar, och relativt ”vana” vid skogsbränder.
Den här branden är dock så stor att den genererar ”fire tornadoes”, alltså eldtromber. Elden eskalerade snabbt när den ”hoppade över” Sacramento River.

@janeruffino Yup! Hence people who live within the culture where the concept of IQ was ”invented” have a higher IQ than people outside it. And many people with super-high IQs wouldn’t survive 2 weeks in the forest =)

Intelligence is a tool used for both good and evil. Humans are defined not by our pursuit of intelligence but by the impact of applying our intelligence. Unfortunately the time spent on assessing impact is miniscule compared to time spent on counting profit.
