There are some wild and worrying statements in this story.
e.g. ”utilize the best moral theories that philosophy has to offer” and ”we should take public opinion with a grain of salt”.
Unsurprisingly, the word ”accountability” is nowhere to be found.

If work is intended to give us more time to be human, when do we stop working?
If we are already more efficient, what are we doing at work?
Did we forget that work also has to be effective?
Have we figured out what effective means yet?
Looking for a question that makes sense.

@berkun The gist of it is:
* Lack of knowledge
* External pressure
* Lack of self-care (health issues)
* Lack of self-awareness (biases and no clear values)
* Time constraints

When I started doing talks on accessibility, I did not imagine that 15 years later most organizations still wouldn't manage to be inclusive online. But this made me research behavioral ethics to better understand why humans keep making bad decisions.
Building resilience, in yourself and others, will assist in mitigating the forces that promote our poor choices. Along with impact management I believe this will be of huge importance to the tech developments of our future.

Do not stand on stage and say you do not need a microphone. There may be people with hearing impairments in the room and audio equipment may have a hearing loop.
Always choose and accept the microphone.
And if you find yourself asking "Can you hear me in the back?" the people answering are likely not the people with hearing impairments.
Please recognize that the goal of WCAG is not WCAG compliance, but to empower as many people as possible with your design.
If you want to buy the Apple TV remote it's 59 US dollars.

If they did any amount of research it would actually be hard to imagine those two problems not being identified.
If your job is to get people hooked and provide for the benefit of the company, without ensuring their well-being, that is what turns humans into batteries.

@adblanche I’d search online for programmes that are affiliated with ICF. coachfederation.org I’d say 6-10,000 dollars for a training programme and then it’s about logging coaching hours.
@adblanche But for best advice in the US I would reach out to @whitneyhess :)
