@carriehd Yass! I've been considering deleting some apps that I generally like but keep asking me this. I mean, needy much?

In my workshop on Friday I played this song about Swedish fika. I encourage everyone to have a fika today and reflect on what they will keep doing, start doing and stop doing. Thank you @WIAD_Zuerich for this brilliant experience. #wiadch #wiad19

Thank you everyone at World IA Day Zürich for a wonderful time. I truly loved all the talks and enjoyed the pace of the days and breaks, and felt really taken care of. Shoutouts to Heather Force, Alina Cvetkova, Laura Sgier, Dario Albanesi, Andrea Rosenbusch, Fabienne Gafner for the incredible effort of putting an event like this together.

Thanks also to workshop hosts and fellow speakers for really useful nuggets of insights, rewarding chats/stories and for connecting the IA dots so well. Sarah Barrett, Rachel Price, Jorge Arango, Bastiaan van Rooden, Memi Beltrame, Svetlana Ognjanovic, Dave Hertig and Janine Lee.

Special thanks to Esther Brunner and all the volunteers I know are also essential to keeping things running smoothly. It's no small feat to pull off. And to all the wonderful participants. Thank you for approaching me to just say hi.

And I also have to mention the hotel so I'll remember this weird, cool and unique experience. 25hours Hotels on Langstrasse. One piece of trivia is that the hotel on Langstrasse is also a pawn shop.

# Wondering what I was doing there?

Follow this link to find the slides from my talk and workshop, as well as download links for my workbook. CC-BY as always. 🧡

I am blown away by how well this definition of an information architect matches what I see as the essential frameset for designers going forward, and which I have learned from coaching.

And how @jorgearango found his way into the industry!

#wiadch #WIAD19 #designfordifference

Also blown away now by how I got @jarango's Twitter handle wrong in that tweet 😫

Great "steering a boat" analogy from @jarango where there is a clear goal but you have to continously adjust the rudder based on external forces such as wind, waves, speed and other vessels.

Love this take on distance from the user by Janine Lee.

"More distance from the users brings you closer to their needs. It urges you stop assuming and start asking."

Brilliant speaker @bratwurstkomet on controlled vocabularies.

« "Table-tennis" refers to ping-pong for people who take ping-pong very seriously. »

We need to stop being surprised by how much data Facebook collects about us.

It doesn't matter if you have a Facebook account.

Your daily dose of tracking insights. As @sara_ann_marie put it, if you’ve been paying attention this shouldn’t be a surprise. So yes, it would be good if fewer people were surprised by it.

And remember, it doesn’t matter if you have a Facebook account.
