"Every new technology creates amazing opportunities and possibilities for people who understand it, but also the chance to exploit the people who don’t."

Here's a thing I see people get wrong all the time.
It's sneak-peek. 👣👁
Not sneak-peak. 👣⛰

@beantin @A_Silvers @clairejlew @uxpodcast Could it be that assuming negative intent promotes short term survival?
This feedback made me glaze over with gratitude, to Abjihit for taking the time to write it, but also to James who is the one putting in the time to make these parts of the UX Podcast experience come together.
For other types of glaze, follow James on Instagram, where he is @bean_tin.
I don’t think most people understand the significance of Ukraine.
I just ordered the newly released book Sandworm by @a_greenberg as recommended on @gaslitnation.
Listen to Gaslit. Read Sandworm. It’s just good life advice.

The revenge of us nerds means the visions of the future are now heavily influenced by 70s and 80s sci-fi flicks. I believe someone has to stop us, our data is ancient and prejudiced.
Also, how is ”mandroid” not a modern-day trope?

”Mandroid. When you’re going for that subservient look.”
#mandroid

Please note that I own a pair of these and love them... 😬
A pair of Airpods, not mandroids.
(Never underestime the power of misunderstanding on Twitter.)
”The venture capitalist, who has known Zuckerberg for more than a decade, said the problem with Facebook goes far beyond fake news. It’s as if the company has sucked the air out of Silicon Valley itself.” x.com/dancharvey/sta…
"Our speaker lineup will be better than ever."
How do you measure this?

There are so many privileged people wanting to make the world a better place by imposing their own ideas about an equitable world onto everyone else. In this intent, there are so many voices that are just not heard, because making is valued higher than listening.
Great technique. Anticipating what can wrong helps mitigate negative impact. Finding easy-to-understand ways of imagining the future helps teams value the exercise, and of course become better at avoiding pitfalls. x.com/berkun/status/…

@tsvenson I believe this has to be considered alongside ”Not every piece of misinformation is fact-checked, so this is only a portion of the fake news on Facebook.” and how many registered voters are active Facebook users.
I propose the primary takeaway here is the extent of the increase.
”An explosion of fake news on Facebook.”
The aggressive actions against misinformation do not seem to be working... popular.info/p/an-explosion…
