@callenet @beantin The question that arises in me is when clapping is a review/points gesture and when it is a social etiquette gesture. This would influence the design.

Giving a presentation to 80 people as a webinar is a certainly a different experience but quickly becoming the norm. Today I added my own applause sound effects at the end! 😂

@rnadworny Haha. You're right. Been using WEIRD for so long in my talks it seemed I wanted to complement that. But you're right, I'm really looking for somwthing else.

@rnadworny Haha put the words in the wrong order. Yes I went for the O because it was more funny if it spelled Weirdo. But WEIRD is of course not my brain child.
@rnadworny Not enough relevant words starting with O... 🤪
Remember, if you build a new solution to a problem and this becomes a profitable business - the profits are guaranteed as long as the problem persists.
You would do good to reason around if it is a problem that should persist, and if you are contributing to its persistence.
WEIRDO
White Educated Rich Democratic Industralised Ordinary
Does this work? I wanted to add the O to emphasize that they are people who conform with a norm, thus excluding anyone who would culturally be seen as deviant from this norm.
A common mistake in design is building for the capabilities that a majority have in common. This increases the gap to people without those capabilities.
Instead, design should work to reduce the differences in capabilities altogether.

@kamilvanbuuren Yes, it's a good, humbling reminder. It's obviously not their fault. :)
↪ Replying to @oscarheed
@oscarheed It really should :) I only have one password that I remember and it's for my password manager. But that's not the final solution either.
Often when I help people add e-mail acounts on their mobile devices we end up in that step... "Oh yeah... now I need my password, I have no idea what that is... let me go look for it."
I'm always amazed that people do not anticipate that they will need their password.

@MorninGovnaa @QuinceMountain I wrote a post about it :) My life was pretty insane for a week or two there. Both happy and sad that this was all it took to get the media's attention...

@MorninGovnaa @QuinceMountain This was a related post as well...

On ability to edit tweets.
No, it’s not as easy to just delete and post a new tweet. If you copy the text in a tweet any link is truncated, and all is NOT copied. So you have to find and copy the link again. And by then you forget to edit, and post the SAME MISTAKE again! 😭
I’m not posting this because it happened only once. Also, my record number of reposting a tweet because I kept forgetting to actually edit the typo is FOUR!
And don’t get me started on if the tweet also contains images. With alt-texts (as they obviously must).
Top left is my station. It's red because the whole station is a mural of a sunset, complete with scenes with people and animals, depicting societal problems from the 70s.
Remind me to take you on a video tour there some time (16.5m below sea level). x.com/WIRED/status/1…

@MorninGovnaa @QuinceMountain Thanks for the heads up. It's been a long time since I received any feedback on the site, I built it to spark some debate 2 yrs ago. I'll see if I can find what's going on with it. Good you know how to get Exif data anyway 👍
@MorninGovnaa @QuinceMountain That said, a lot of people are aware of this today and scrub their metadata, use a dick pic from the net, or even add fake metadata(!) The others seem to want you to know where they live 🙄
↪ Replying to @tsvenson
