I’m not going to manage to pull off this seminar this year. Pushing forward until January-February 2021. Next year will be the year of wellbeing promotion… x.com/axbom/status/1…

@MarMurube To me it is spontaneously somber. But I'm also encouraged to go deeper. I wonder what it says about us as a species that this is the direction pursued. Are we enforcing a desired state or an undesired one.
This robot hand has pores that sweat through a flesh-like outer layer, can vent out the smell of shampoo and a small speaker plays the sounds of footsteps—all to support the illusion of human companionship.

I've used this short film in my #digitalethics courses and workshops for a few years. It resonates with many people and sparks some really useful discussions. For some people it helps them understand what I mean by digital ethics. by @Superflux

And this film illustrating the messiness of tech gone wrong (which we know it will) is a good one to follow up with.

@AngelosArnis Good question. It's different parts curiosity and growing tired of how bulky Wordpress is. Looking for something sleek and fast that will be out of my way when writing. I've never been friends with the new WP editor (which I've deactivated). Ghost just seems built right.
Thinking of making the move to @Ghost from Wordpress for my blog. Only worry is that I want to keep publishing some posts in English and some posts in Swedish. I custom-made this for axbom.blog – it's unclear how easy it is to set 'lang' attribute per post on Ghost.
Looking like I could manage this with 'collections'.

I think I have my holiday work cut out for me. 2021 will be a fresh start.
I love hobby-coding in my spare time and this looks like a good balance of challenging and feasible.
Went to try the trial and my e-mail was already in use. Turns out I had an account from 2013(!) 😂 Ghost support were nice enough to activate a new trial period for me.
Early adopter syndrome. Having an account every-bloody-where. 😬

@toymango For me it’s always been like $200 too expensive to feel like it’s been worth it. But I’m feeling more and more that I will love it. And my freelance business has done okay post-summer… 😊

@yessshir I do love the simplicity and formatting of Dropbox paper.
Just imagine how many different old notes I've found in different software I've evaluated over the years. 😂

@JensBackbom Ommbits. But it’s really for short-form writing. Need to try Ommwriter again. x.com/axbom/status/1…
One of my biggest distractions is searching for distraction-free word processors. You’d think by now I’d realise there likely isn’t one that works for me. And maybe, just maybe, I’m trying to solve the wrong problem.
#YouShouldBeWriting
That said, Ommbits is really lovely.

You just know this is going to be a thread about writing tools rather than the importance of self-reflection, introspection, goal setting and planning. 😅
So yeah, I’ve tried
Ulysses
Bear
IA Writer
Byword
Hemingway
Calmly
Ommwriter
likely a few more…
And I do still use some of these tools for certain tasks.
Thinking now about Storyist because I’m imagining there is a part missing…
I’ve hesitated to buy a Freewrite for years… but hey, Christmas of 2020 is around the corner… Of course now they also have a traveler edition and I’ll never be able to decide.

The most efficient solution would of course be to hire someone to punch me when I’m not writing. But there’s likely all sorts of ethical conundrums* with that ;)
*Wow, I love that word.

Human failure to acknowledge - or in recognition respond to - the suffering of other sentient beings, is a puzzle at the core of my motivation to do better.
