Ah, gotcha. Yes, some of my clients also expect it, and have their whole design system in there, which means I have to reinvent my offerings to avoid it. I'm too old and lazy to learn my umpteenth tool... 😅
I've personally only done pair programming sitting physically next to each other. And with devs I've spent some prior time with. To work remotely I would want to have met and shared an experience outside the screen beforehand I think.

Seen lots of ads for UXPin but never used it. I will always argue that the browser is the only way of knowing how it will behave in the end. And will save sooo much time. But it's obviously not for all designers.
Also saved a lot of time like Beantin by just sitting next to a dev and talking our way through it.
I do feel that a lot of wireframe and prototype builders are missing out by not knowing about Keynotopia or the benefits of just going hardcore presentation software.
Some prototypes I've built have been Keynote documents with clickable elements that bring the user to different pages. When I export that to PDF all the click actions are maintained, so I have a clickable prototype contained within a PDF that I can send around to clients. It's super quick.
I really should do a course on this, it's pretty nifty.

I'm very curious about your first post now. "Moving" from Figma to Balsamiq. Is it an actual move or a project where it makes more sense to use Balsamiq?

Jokes aside I have done a lot of prototyping using Webflow and sometimes plain HTML. Previously also Bootstrap. If I need something really quick I use Keynote.

@clacke I agree with this sentiment, it does feel a roundabout way of looking at it and I haven't dug deeper into the forums to understand more about background or how it will actually appear in the interface.
What I would find interesting is if the idea is a view showing quote posts that is separate from the thread view but easily reachable from the thread view.
It's not unlikely that I would be interested in your tangent if I am reading the thread.
As I saw @nazgul point out, the tools for finding your Twitter friends’ Mastodon accounts will likely stop working next week, when Twitter API usage starts costing money.
You may want to run them again to find new accounts since you ran them last.

Reading the changelog for the next release of Akkoma (the software I'm running instead of Mastodon).
This caught my eye:

Yes, Akkoma has always had quote posts though I've never really used them. The interesting thing here is that now it won't create a completely new thread and they will all be transparent for everyone looking at the thread.
Will be interesting to try this out to see how it will work and look. I expect to be able to upgrade within two weeks.
Of course, it's yet another example of how different flavors of Fediverse software choose to implement different features. However it looks for me won't be the same way it looks for you, if you're on Mastodon.

Jag får frågan då och då i arbetslivet. Genom åren har den, i motsats till vad jag kanske förväntat mig, blivit svårare att svara på. Inte för att jag inte vet, utan för att det inte går att paketera i ett fint litet produktnamn.
Kunder vill köpa UX, eller tillgänglighet, eller något annat som har med digital design att göra. Eller kanske en workshop-facilitator eller kursledare. Någon som man kan passa in i en mall.
Min styrka, och svaghet, har alltid varit att jag inte passar in i mallen. Och inte vill. Jag kan vara allt det där man frågar efter. På papperet. Men jag måste få vara något mer också. Kanske var det därför jag för 13 år sedan startade eget företag.
Jag är en lyssnare.
Jag lyssnar på det du säger. Och oerhört mycket på det du inte säger. Kanske kan man prata om röstläge, ordval, kroppsspråk. Jag har dock svårt att förklara det på annat sätt än så här: när jag lyssnar kan jag höra det du redan vet men ännu inte hört dig själv säga.

My understanding was that you were having trouble uploading to Mastodon and having to retry multiple times. My suggestion is that it may help when you upload to Mastodon to select a smaller image size of the photo you choose from your library.
Making the photo smaller within that step of uploading to Mastodon is what my post explains.

Sounds like your instance has some issues :)
On Akkoma I can add and edit alt text when editing a post after the fact. Not sure why Mastodon still doesn’t appear to allow this. It’s a shame.
One thing to consider is reducing the size of your photo before uploading it, as upload challenges may be related to heavy images.
