Agree with Rachel here. Some parts of this video also made me go 'hmm…'.
The probabilistic software responds 'Perfetto' to confirm, thus using the language that the controller just requested translation from, and into, which would logically imply they do not know that language. A bad choice for a confirmation message.
It infers gender and intent rather than just translating as requested. "She wonders if…"
It also mimics the Italian speaker's laugh at the end without having been requested to do so, which can come across as mocking (hence the audience laughter). If the voice was deeper, would it do the same and what would that sound like.
This entire interaction in the video is obviously rehearsed to a tee. Whether the software output is real is impossible to say.
