This makes me cry. At the beginning of the 20th century there were a million of them. Between 1960 and 1995 an astonishing 98 percent of black rhinos were killed by poachers, Late in 2011 there were 0 left of the western black rhinoceros on the planet. I've long seen the rhino as my totem animal, and you can even catch a glimpse of it on my facebook profile header... :'(
