FYI. End of day today I am going on a social media hiatus, removing Twitter and Facebook completely from my attention. Back in August.

On Facebook you will not be able to see my account during this time.

Please Note: This is not a stance against social media, it is not adherence to any campaign or current debate and it is not a call to arms for others to follow suit. It is, quite simply, information to my friends and acquaintances based on the acknowledgement that my prominent presence in these channels has created an expectation for me to be here and respond. I am not taking a break only from social media, I am taking a pause from work, from writing, from customers and from a plethora of other things that, in combination, have been keeping me unhealthily occupied over the past six monts. I’ve never seen social media itself as overbearing or as a root cause of anything. It’s just an awesome vehicle for human expression.

So what then? I will be spending time reflecting, repleneshing and re-energizing. We all do this in different ways. I will not be taking a break from the podcast which will continue to be released every two weeks all year round.

It’s just a break, sometimes called vacation, retreat or getaway. A place for rest, solitude and reflection. I promise, it’s not something new. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. Sometimes information is just information.
