Nu klart att jag kommer ansvara för kursen Etik inom UX på Nackademin. Detta ingår nu i yrkesutbildningen till UX-designer. 👊😍🙏

I’ve started blocking people more regularly and I’m surprised by how good it feels. I don’t mind opposing views, but people who just spew vitriol over others I have no space for.
Could it be that when someone is truly good, they are always beautiful?
Food for thought by @reichenstein.

Hej vänner! Behöver stresstesta Google docs för att se hur många som kan redigera ett dokument samtidigt. Hjälp mig gärna genom att klicka på länken :) Du kommer in som anonym om du inte redan är inloggad hos Google.

Hey friends! Help me stress test this Google document. Click the link and write on "the wall". Let me know if something odd happens for you. :)

Not keen on those "Your memory" videos when you log into Facebook? Here is your friendly reminder that you can go to facebook.com/memories, click "Notifications" and select "None".

@eljayjay74 @mags @PatrickGerard01 What you can do is go to facebook.com/memories and either click "Notifications" and choose "None", or click "Preferences" and opt-out of people and dates. At least on desktop. I'm not entirely sure what "None" actually does but I believe it's close to what you're asking.

@mags @PatrickGerard01 Thank you for your responses Margaret! Obviously work like this is never finished but an ongoing part of design and development. And I appreciate the pure magnitude of Facebook presents ots own challenges.
@mags @PatrickGerard01 That said, have you considered having this type of functionality as opt-in rather than opt-out? Expecting someone in mourning to remember to change their settings to avoid potential future hurt certainly feels like putting a lot of responsibility on the user.
@mags @PatrickGerard01 I realize I'm now at a level of detail that may not suit itself to a Twitter convo, but I would truly be interested in learning more about the design process around stress cases. Would it at all be possible to briefly interview you or someone else around these challenges?
Is anyone aware of a limit to how many people can edit a google document at the same time? I'm thinking open anonymous editing as well. 🤪
Psychologists have "surprising" advice for people who feel unmotivated. This is also very much in line with how coaching works. And why I talk so much about listening. Listen to the person who asks for help, rather than give them advice.

Today I've learned the hard way that the ORDER command is deprecated in Apache 2.4 for .htaccess files. Just to give you an idea of the level of geekery I sometimes commit myself to.

@j_lloyd @jmspool So you fixed it for everyone with impaired vision, not just for older donors, right? I believe not focusing on age here actually creates a broader understanding of the wide spectrum of human ability regardless of age.
@j_lloyd @jmspool Having age as the driver creates the unnecessary risk of only adjusting the design for cases where you believe older people will interact - thus one bias begetting another.

@mags @PatrickGerard01 What methodology do you use to identify potential negative impact? It looks like Facebook has been apologizing for reminding people of hurtful experiences at least since 2014:

Isn’t it terrifying how the words ”edge” and ”margin” so obviously correlate when development projects ignore so-called edge-cases, thus ignoring marginalized people.

Prediction: At some point in the future a majority of humanity will reach the conclusion that listening, not discussing, is the path to resolving conflict.
