Read this thread by @Sunny. It teaches so much.

Thank you so much Anna for this lovely review of Digital Compassion. 🙏
Such a wonderful gift, and perfect timing for boosting my mood as I'm in bed with a bad cold. x.com/ichianna/statu…
Found myself surprised it's already been 3 years since Susan Fowler's blog post on the sexual harassment culture at Uber.
It made a difference. And now I'm reading this terrifying account of what she's being going through because of it.

Almost needless to say, I bought the book.

@chrisnoessel You are open about how you feel, offer an alternative date when you will tend to specific tasks. And then get to writing :)

@elou @saucymincks Lovely! I visited a nephew yesterday who loves wearing glitter and skirts. Will definitely be buying this.
Riktigt bra text om vård, mätvärden och mänsklighet som är relevant för de flesta branscher.

I've noticed that as I grow older, whenever someone says it's "better, faster and cheaper" I do a slow eyeroll.

Some years ago I wrote "What is UX?" to formalize my own interpretation of this industry as it seemed to be drifting in all sorts of different directions. I stand by my perspective, but I'm afraid the term is now even more diluted in the real world.

@Grinblo Thank you for retweets Evgenia. Any brilliance I happen to reflect is only borne out of the many people I interact with who help me see new perspectives. Of which you are one. Will always remember how you saved @beantin and me in the most fumbling intro in @uxpodcast history 😄
I just read a comment on here that I thought was a well-reasoned reflection. And it was only afterwards I looked at who wrote it and my reaction was, ”huh... but I usually don’t like how this person expresses themselves”.
Challenging my prejudices, it’s a daily obstacle course.
In Obama’s reading list for 2019, the very top one: The Age of Surveillance Capitalism by @shoshanazuboff, of course criticizes the mass surveillance enabled by Obama himself - quite harshly. Did he stop to consider the power he handed over to Trump?

Of course, to those outside looking in, it looks like vampirism. But this is one of those stories where you have to fight with your own prejudices.

@round 💯 I’m reading The Intelligence Trap by David Robson and it’s just gnawing on me in every decision.
I'm just fascinated by how much I love paced.email by @rikkipitt.
The usability and usefulness of just providing a unique, paced alias for all online services - by just typing the address how I want(!) - is almost too good to be true.
paced.email
I mean, once you have chosen a username you just type new e-mail addresses that are logical, unique and forward to your primary e-mail at the pace you want.
I'm actually not sure I can explain. You have to try it to understand the brilliance.
Also, thanks to @arnklint for telling me about the service.

@timo3000 In some sense yes. Many orgs are fighting for this. My worry is that the potential for deception is already extremely high and affecting large populations before we reach AI. Hence the danger of cheapfake. And ever faster news cycles don't support debunking of cheapfakes.
