So among this morning's many thoughts on how to force ethics into more conversations I'm suddenly keen to start up a Stockholm Institute of Applied Ethics for Digital.
Feels feasible... maybe 😬

"For the most part, these are not psychiatric disorders that people are having. These are ordinary responses to an extraordinary situation. People are overwhelmed, and that’s to be expected […]. Everybody is going to be affected, absolutely everyone."

A 2-year study looked at how 1,019 people aged between 13 and 18 engaged with digital health via apps, social media, and the internet.
While we've had poor messaging to teens in the past, I believe notifications and ubiquity exacerbate the impact.

Waking up early and finding myself reading about right-wing authoritarianism (RWA).
I guess it's still 2020.

@markhurst @lizjosullivan @shoshanazuboff Oh I'm not condoning their practices in any way, but not perjury. I think asking that question allows for this answer and they look better than they should.

@markhurst @lizjosullivan @shoshanazuboff As far as I've gotten in the book she has talked about the previous practices and how surprised people were to learn this was going on. But maybe there is more. I'm reading it now :)

@hypervisible @ubiquity75 Don't want to impose on you here, but a hot tip is creating a @whereby room where you can actually share view a YouTube video (live ones too) while keeping the conference audio intact as well. The free room is for 4 people but $10 will get you 12 people. (I'm not affiliated 😂).
@hypervisible @ubiquity75 @whereby I may have jumped the gun regarding audio. The sidebar with chat will work, and you can see each other, but now I'm not sure about audio. Maybe @whereby can jump in with regards to collaborative YouTube viewing? Anyway, you know you're seeing the same thing at the same time.
Who is watching the hearing today? Is there a backchannel I should know about, should I create one? Thinking social viewing can help make sense of what's said. Just tweeting out loud here before thinking. I might watch in my @whereby room, which allows shared viewing...
