@MarMurube Once I had this first version that is exactly what I realised I want to expand with!

↪ Replying to @JennyTheolin
@jennytheolin This time it’s Lucidchart because that is what the client uses. Otherwise I would likely do Mural.
↪ Replying to @robscottsays
@robscottsays @HighFidelityXR @euroia Ah no unfortunately when I say space I meant digital space. Specifically this is LucidChart and all our other models we working on are adjacent to his image. Digital sticky notes :)
↪ Replying to @nevyn
@nevyn I need to use tools approved by the client's IT org. 🙃 Will check that out to see how it plays with workshops and sticky notes.
↪ Replying to @robscottsays
@robscottsays @HighFidelityXR @euroia Yeah we're working in the same space with sticky notes and stuff all day so we're staying in context. But I'll check out that tool for other things!

@pp3dp_se Oh wow I love this connotation. Makes me think I can turn this into more of a game.
For a small workshop I’m running on Thursday I’ve put together a shared whiteboard with a floor plan. The idea is to see who is in the meeting, and when we have breaks people put themselves in the break room and move themselves back when they are back. To be developed further.

Here’s the next iteration. Feel free to use it. The idea behind the dotted line and an area marked “DONE” is to give participants a way to communicate that they are out of ideas for the current workshop exercise. They just move their avatar there.

@hockew The example in the article is this deleted text: “Notes. Client is desperate to recover something and not face the PR disaster of receiving nothing at trial. Offer $100K. But get it settled before end of month even if we have to take half that.”

@BillNigh Your time for reflection shows. Thank you for being you. 🙏
↪ Replying to @snetramelleh
@snetramelleh @laura_yarrow I think a quick link to an online description of the specific talk is great, but sometimes those pages don’t specify the time slot and you have to go find it in the program. Sometimes only the starting time is specified for each speaker and you tend to forget how much Q&A time…
@snetramelleh @laura_yarrow …you agreed on. So a number of minutes for the talk, even in the program and on the speaker page, is likely helpful. I feel incredibly lazy for even suggesting this though 😅
It’s fascinating how metadata in Word documents - if we include revision history in this - is a modern form of ethical conundrum when for example a lawyer gains access to text that opposing counsel has deleted from a previous version.

@ErikBernskiold Haha. “Jo förresten, jag har ju möjlighet att köra det här på såväl engelska som svenska och ville bara försäkra mig om vilket ni föredrar.” Äg frågan… 😬
Du har absolut rätt. 🙏

@mjmetts This is most certainly the passive avoidance strategy for obtaining information…

@ErikBernskiold Sant. Tack. Det har dock varit bokat sedan februari så man kan ju tycka att jag borde tänkt tanken lite tidigare…
↪ Replying to @wilg
@wilg This! So many of our tech words are just English variants and we may as well just make the whole switch sooner rather than later :)
↪ Replying to @bettina_dk
@bettina_dk This is truly the best course of action. I do try and make my slides have as few words as possible, for exactly this reason. I tend to give similar talks in both languages and it saves a lot of time.
Speaking at a corporate conference next week and suddenly I’m unsure if it’s supposed to be in Swedish or English(!). There are so few days left I feel embarassed to ask. Going to read back on e-mails to try and deduce it that way… 😅
Thanks everyone for your concern, advice and jests :) The answer is Swedish.
So here is why I get confused: on Wednesday I’m giving a talk in English for a UK audience. Next week a talk in Swedish for a Swedish archival interest group (on metadata). The week after that a talk in English for a Swedish company who have invited international clients…
That constant feeling of 'am I spending my time well?'.
You're okay. Just find time to stare into space once in a while, be bored and go for outings if you can. Then check your bearings. You'll find your way back to your path. Worry less. Be kinder to yourself.
#NoteToSelf

While one may worry about everyday life keeping people from seeing the democratic collapse, I worry about the democratic collapse keeping people from seeing the climate collapse. I imagine it's similar behavioral mechanisms...
