I have given talks for 20 years saying that links to the full text of articles should not only read “Read more”. This has given me the experience to understand that I will be giving the same talk for 20 more.

That fleeting feeling of yet another in-your-face nonessential feature that can not be turned off because respecting human autonomy is too massive of an ask.
Enjoy this episode of CSI Stockholm, where James decides to examine the evidence in his lab, going deep into the code, in an effort to ascertain the meaning and purpose of the inexplicable icon. x.com/beantin/status…

@beantin @LinkedIn I love that inspecting the code is how you figured it out 😅
Everyone of course needs to listen to episode 244. Weirdly I was just recommending this episode in my morning meeting, for the same reasons - icons are not universally understood.

Can you handle the truth?
Out today is our 250th (!) episode of UX Podcast, in which James and I interview Gapminder Foundation's Anna Rosling Rönnlund about being factful, and how we can help ourselves and others make sense of the world.

@imdoinfine Will add this to my everyday Task List: "Throw trash in bin, it's to your left." And then add a speaker to the bin that regularly announces: "I'm feeling all empty inside!"
Now to figure out how I'll remember to empty the bin.
SONDER.

I have to wonder if respondents are given a definition of AI before answering this survey. I'm guessing any automated computer software will likely make it into these responses... the term "AI-based" makes it even more ambiguous.

Shoutout to @sproudofficial. Really liking their new plant-based milk alternative. I'm #sproud 😊

And yes, this is one of the backgrounds I sometimes use in online meetings.
My desk is littered with trash (don't ask) so I have the novel idea of putting a trash can closer to my desk. I look down to discover the empty trash can I put there for this purpose THREE weeks ago.
This is my life now: having new ideas that I’ve already implemented.
After many, many years of trying and testing (and putting down money) to find a task management app that works for me I'm happy to announce Smart Tasks is doing the job.

The US president has fired the US's leading authority on election security, appointed in 2018. The director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, Chris Krebs, was one of the few people well-respected on both sides of the aisle. 62 days left 'til January 20. x.com/HomelandDems/s…

@A_Silvers @inkblurt I figured it out! If you can read a sentence about a company that ends with the word "successful", replace that word with "harmful", and the sentence still is legit: then the company is not successful.

@A_Silvers @inkblurt Amazon just launched in Sweden the other week and it pains me to my core. Pain. Invoking pain in others seems to be a tenet of WEIRD success.
