@waldi To be clear, I also plan on closing down Google Workspace and cutting all ties there (as far as is possible). The accounts/services lost due to this action, beyond Google Drive, for example (which is an obvious one), is what I am most interested in. The email itself I have no trouble managing.

The biggest of pains for me, and difficult to admit, is not having moved my business email away from Google. I’m getting ready to do that within the next few months. I actually have my whole family’s email accounts in there as well, which has also added to the friction of moving.
Right now my biggest concern is identifying all the different other accounts and connections that may be dependent on that main google account, and if they contain anything of value. I’ve used this google account for so many years it’s bound to be attached to all sorts of things, and the ”plumbing” is not easy to grasp. As an example, the Feedburner service has been attached to a singular google account since google took it over (I no longer use it, but it’s a good example to understand the type of dependency I’m talking about, and that can result in not being able to access content).
Has anyone seen a writeup of what to watch out for when moving a domain name away from Google Workspace?
Realising I may have to do a writeup of my own in the end.

På morgonen idag intervjuades jag av Frida Mangen för podden AI för Folket. Om bias i AI och konsekvenserna av att det blir fel. Det kändes som att det blev toppenbra, och att jag fick ut mitt budskap.
Gillar formatet för podden, vars avsnitt alla är cirka 15-20 minuter. Gästerna får tala till punkt och Frida och Sofia driver inte någon agenda annat än att folkbilda för nyfikna.
Att jag sedan inte håller med alla gäster är bara att förvänta sig. 😁
Avsnittet med mig är självklart inte ute ännu men jag uppskattar till exempel sådana här filosofiska samtal som det blev med Kerstin Beckman i avsnittet “Vad säger vår syn på AI om oss själva?”

Det har varit en sjuhelvetes jobbig månad med sena kvällar och högt tempo. Men jag vet att jag ska vara tacksam över att jag har jobb. (För två år sedan trodde jag att jag skulle behöva lägga ner företaget.) Att få skicka fakturan nu blir plåster på såren för allt överarbete, som jag ju egentligen inte alls vill ägna mig åt. Livet går i vågor.

It’s actually one off the funniest and most honest pages where an organisation explains why I shouldn’t their own service that I’ve seen.

You should definitely read the linked page. It’s the funniest and most honest list of drawbacks (i.e. why you should not user our service) I’ve seen.

Vi brukade ha mer långtgående debatter i det offentliga innan vi klubbade lagar som tar oss allt djupare in i samma övervakningssamhälle som Kina, intrång i privatlivet som vi en gång i tiden hade som skräckexempel.
