@frasen @DickPicLocator So the answer is yes, I could see what percentage successfully retrieved location data. I should add that counter.

@frasen @DickPicLocator I would assume the large majority are tests. Even if I could see what percentage have geo data I have no idea whether they are d-pics or not

@k_minus_e I think teachers these days love showing these images to kids. Which of course is good.
@k_minus_e And generally maybe adults have a harder time with these... so many biases have time to settle...

@k_minus_e Also I showed the 3D picture to my son and asked what man was bigger. His immediate response was "They're all the same size." 😀

Note to self: lansera inte en kontroversiell webbsida samma dag som du firar bröllopsdag. Tur att jag har världens bästa fru som vet precis vem hon gift sig med och kan älska de här knäppa sidorna hos mig också. Tar tag i fler kommentarer imorgon. Sov gott!

@SmallBizGeekUK @Andrew_Wyld @DickPicLocator I would presume so. I plan to do some testing with different networks over the next couple of days.
Okay you would not believe the corners of the web a @DickPicLocator creation reveals, but this is one of my faves: dontbeadick.se/#start
To be clear, I will not be doing the IKnowWhereYourCatLives version of the @DickPicLocator. iknowwhereyourcatlives.com

@Andrew_Wyld @DickPicLocator Interesting. Would be crazy if I choose not to share location when I share the photo on Instagram but it's still GPS-tagged online.
Sooner or later people will begin to realize the copy is the USP of this site. Because the tool is already on your phone. No, really. x.com/axbom/status/8…
For example, go into the photo library on an iPhone and choose to see details of the photo. Your photo is neatly placed on a map.
Any photo you send to someone else or that you receive, you can do this with. The only prerequisite is that the photo is tagged.
Most phones tag your photo with GPS coordinates whether you like it or not. It's a default setting that people do not know to opt out of.
The real culprits, alas, are the phone and software manufacturers who keep most people in the dark about what is shared in a photo.

@Andrew_Wyld @DickPicLocator Good. The point of this experiment is to raise these types of questions. The functionality is already built into most smartphones but >
@Andrew_Wyld @DickPicLocator > most people seem unaware. If you download a photo to an iPhone for example and ask to see details for a photo, you see it on a map.
@Andrew_Wyld @DickPicLocator For Instagram these are "scraped out" as you put it, because you can not download Instagram photos. On the other hand, people tend to share>
@Andrew_Wyld @DickPicLocator > location on Instagram anyway.
@Andrew_Wyld @DickPicLocator What I need to check is to see what happens if you share an Instagram photo to Facebook and someone downloads from there.
@Andrew_Wyld @DickPicLocator But the issue of locating random innocent social media users is already an issue, but there's a huge lack of awareness.
There is now a dick pic locator. That is all. http://dickpiclocator.com/
