@albertatrebla @infobeautiful I’m not sure I want the ”What earns you money” in there though. For me, that’s a western addition that subtracts from the overarching ”a reason for being”. A person’s ikigai can also be their hobby, or raising children.

@clartem Yes, but what I mean is: there is space on the iPad to rotate the vertical interface into the landscape area of the iPad. Why not use all that black space?
@clartem This is a painful way to use Instagram on the iPad, when there is clearly space to just flip the vertical iPhone canvas within the constraints of the iPad canvas.

Why can’t the iPad rotate apps made for the iPhone, so that I can view them in landscape mode? This is ridiculous...

I don’t always like to share prediction posts, but this piece is beautifully executed, well-written and - in my mind - glaringly relevant for everyone working in digital.
I of course especially like this part from the post: ”You can prevent the [diversity] gap, by hiring a diverse design team. This doesn’t eliminate the need for user research, but having a plural team can help ensure different perspectives are taken into consideration. A designer with an interracial or mixed background would have raised their hand when reviewing the set of emojis above [that don’t include interracial families].”

Happy new year and may the ethical mindset make us all stronger in 2018.
This is a ”fun” thread. But the 21st century started on Jan 1, 2001, since we count centuries 1-100, not 0-99. There is, however, a separate century we could call 2000s. That is NOT, however, the 21st century. Love learning opportunities. :) en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/21st_cent… x.com/_bethbethbeth_…

Hehe, the Twitter bot @MakeLiberiaGr8 made my day. It corrects people who use the Liberian flag 🇱🇷, thinking it’s the star-spangled one 🇺🇸. 😀
