...and politics 😬.
On capitalism, leadership, oblivious regulators, forged quality-control documents, handshake agreements and secret software.
”You can say that a fatal design flaw killed all these people, but that’s actually just another way of saying that money did.”

🤔 Hmm... Since when does Google/Alphabet need ads in the Washington Post for visibility? x.com/firefox/status…
This Department of Defense Agile Bullshit Detector is brilliant. Read it.
First point:
Key flags that a project is not really agile:

@CRBarretto Oh wow, what I wouldn't give for a Kilimanjaro. I have to see if anyone is importing them here.

The charging station is positioned in the middle of this bench so homeless people can't lie down here.
People object to hostile design when they can see it. But when it is invisible, and many benefit, ignoring harm feels safe.
This is the complexity of #digitalethics.

@hugofroesUX Yes, too much money and thinking is going into these designs...

@jocke @mariafarrell Agree about the hand-raising. But is there necessarily an uprising just because there is mistrust? Today there are lots of reasons people stay in relationships they are not really comfortable with. I'm especially thinking of vulnerable people without a strong voice or education.
For those of you who were perhaps wondering what my tweet yesterday, about directing someone to ask users instead of me, was all about :) x.com/axbom/status/1…

@hhpapazian @Pasquale_Stella Awesome, I’m not sure you asked me a question before assuming intent though? :)
Intent: I was happily surprised the person sees the greater value in user research rather than trusting biased advice from a single person before any research is done.
@hhpapazian @Pasquale_Stella The “my work is done” part is half-joking because it makes it sound so final, but also: a large part of my work is coaching others in human-centric and human-considerate design. When I pass milestones these are ‘done’ and celebrated.
Thank you for encouraging me to clarify. 😊
