@annettemboyer @mrialena Yeah I avoid Zoom as much as I possibly can. The platform I use for teaching and presenting when I'm in control is Samba Live. digitalsamba.com

@ggdupont When I taught a 3-week course in ethics I had all the students send me a selfie, printed them out and placed them on top of my computer monitor :)
So, this is my most appreciated virtual background for online meetings these days.
On the white poster - in Swedish - I’ve written “Everything’s going to be okay.”

@RowanEConway Thank you for this. Great content for my research on well-being! Definitely gonna dive into this as well.

Again I just finished a 45 minute talk in absolute silence as all participants are muted. I miss applause, even if it’s just out of politeness. And faces. Smiles. Eye contact. I think the absence of all this is more mentally taxing than I have admitted to myself.
@mmhmmapp The latest update seems to have broken the green screen sensitivity. When I specify that I do not have a green screen the effect is almost better than when I specify that I have a green screen (can not see through my headset though).

Wait, all of a sudden it started working, without me doing anything... hmmm...

@movito @klick_ass Yes, for some talks I use a teleprompter. 👍

@movito @klick_ass We'll get there :) Meanwhile, I'm exhausted by attending online events. I basically have stopped attending. I guess the format is part of that. I also want to more easily attend an event while going for a walk, not sitting on my chair.

@movito @klick_ass I use @mmhmmapp for this though.

@movito There is a workaround for that by using an iPad as remote ;) macworld.com/article/357243…
But personally I rarely use speaker notes. I have a mindmap or a text document to keep me on track.

@movito Adding to this thread to let people know Apple added this feature to Keynote in July.

Important news for people who use Apple Keynote as their presentation tool of choice. Since July (and Keynote 10.1) it has been possible to play the Keynote slideshow in a standalone window. In online meetings it will no longer "steal your screen".

If you need speaker notes, you can use an iPad or iPhone as a remote for the presentation.

Thinking about making new content but as always I have too many ideas to decide on the much-needed area of focus.
Finishing off slides for tomorrow and feeling pleased with my design :)

No cheating. 🧐 Approximately how many countries are there in the world?

@evilspirals Design the interface before you start considering accessibility. Accessibility is an add-on, or a side-project someone else can think about.
