My son bought this book for me for my birthday (in June) but it didn't arrive until yesterday and he gave it to me when I came home from work.
Started reading it in bed and am halfway through as I'm continuing my reading at the breakfast table. I would never suppose it's a book for everyone but wow is it hitting me at the exact right time in my life.
"Turn your TV off. Throw your machines out the window. Save your excuses for someone who cares. Get to work."

@LeoR1010 Verkligen. Jag blir alltid så himla glad när det kommer spontant. Gör att jag själv vill skicka vidare till andra som annars är så lätt att glömma uppmärksamma för att de förgyller vardagen.
Jag kan berätta att när jag är fullständigt utmattad av veckor med nya jobb och föreläsningar och får sådana här meddelanden apropå ingenting så har jag väldigt lätt till (glädje)tårar:
”Hejhej! Jag kan berätta att din WS var den högsta betygsatta av alla våra WS! Snyggt!”
Jag tänker ofta på hur man nog kan ses av andra som erfaren och blasé, men ändå är man – liksom alla – bara ett litet nystan av nerver och oro som behöver vård och omtänksamhet.
Väldigt tacksam också för den här värdefulla ytan att skriva av mig på inför andra (ja det är ju ni som gör ytan värdefull), även om det blivit väldigt lite på svenska senaste tiden…
I truly didn't think this would finally happen in a significant way, but some companies are actually paying good money for me to come and tell them to behave and treat people better.
While I get into a lot of "how", the next step is obviously "do".

Living in a world where it's suddenly become controversial to call computer software what it is: computer software.
Nope, we now have to imply that the software has a human-like brain. The media is eating it up and everything everywhere has lost all logic all at once.

Another sympathy block against Tesla was announced today by the union of civil servants: ST (in Sweden). Postal workers will stop delivering all mail and packages to Tesla starting on November 21.
A sympathy notice means that a union declares their intent to take conflict measures that support another union in their ongoing negotiations. The difference between a sympathy notice and a "normal" notice is that the supporting union is not directly involved in the ongoing negotiations.
This means a total of seven(!) unions in Sweden are now taking action against Tesla.
1) IF Metall: No workshop repair work
2) Transport: Blockage of ports (no car deliveries in the 4 ports of Malmö, Gothenburg, Trelleborg, and Södertälje)
3) Fastighets: No cleaning of premises
4) Seko: Post and delivery blockade
5) Elektrikerna: No electricity work or repair
6) Målarna: No paintwork on vehicles
7) ST: No mail or package deliveries
Background: Tesla is refusing to sign a collective agreement with their union, IF Metall. Metal workers at Tesla’s seven Swedish repair shops have been on strike since October 27. For context, around 90% of Swedish employees are covered by collective agreements. These agreeements outline terms of pay, pensions, and working conditions.
IF Metall has been working on getting Tesla to sign a collective agreement with workers in its repair shops since 2018. Union representatives have said they are ready for a long strike, if deemed necessary.
The world would generally make more sense to me if instead of saying "I'm using an AI to do this", people would just say "I'm using computer software to do this."
The world won't be so lucky.
General-purpose machines? Yes. That's what a computer is.
I input data, it goes through software, and a brand new output comes out. Generative! My Sinclair ZX81 did this. Using BASIC.
Maybe there's is something else this new definition of AI adds?
* The amount of energy and data needed to build the software
* Unpredictability of what the output will be.
* The unexaplainability of the software.
So what we are using is big-data, energy-intensive, unpredictable, unexplainable computer software. Also known as AI.

I made this diagram as an explanatory model for showing the relationships between different actors when it comes to AI development and use. It gives you something to point at when showing for example who finances the systems, who contributes to the systems and who benefits or suffers from them. In the blog post are explanations of each grouping in the chart.
