I get that everyone doesn’t know what is good or bad for accessibility. What can frustrate me is that after I explain something is truly bad for accessibility, some people in my network choose to keep doing that very thing.
Even after they’ve ”liked” my posts.
Which has to make one realise what a fucking battle it can be for people with disabilities to constantly have to advocate for their rights.
And of course even have them ignored by people with other types of disabilities who are busy advocating for different considerations.
Everybody is struggling. I just wish there was more space for keeping it simple and putting wellbeing ahead of illusive pizazz.

@raphaelmorgan This is valid. 😅

Ghost is definitely a good fit for you. You should consider running your own VPS to regain full control… by using Cloudron for setup, admin and updates you don't need to worry about getting into time-consuming code and maintenance issues.

Remember how it was obvious that we build machines that adapt to human behaviors and needs?
Now look at the millions of humans changing and tweaking the way they write prompts when they don't get the output they expect. Adapting to the machines.
I'd laugh if it wasn't so sad.

In Sweden we have this electronics chain and I do a double-take every time their ad comes on the radio saying "Elon wishes you a merry christmas."

Paris Marx is joined by Tim Schwab to discuss why the story we hear about Bill Gates and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation doesn’t reflect their real impact on education and health around the world.
Tim Schwab is an investigative journalist and the author of The Bill Gates Problem: Reckoning with the Myth of the Good Billionaire.
Tim Schwab: ”I mean, the problem is that this one side of reporting, it’s ended up producing what is essentially misinformation. It’s a lot of fictions really: this idea that Bill Gates is giving away all his money. That’s not true. His personal wealth is nearly doubled. During his tenure as a philanthropist. You go to the Gates Foundation’s website, and you’ll see lots of pictures of Black and Brown women and children, the so-called targets of the Gates Foundation’s charitable giving. But if you follow the money, almost all of the foundation’s charitable gifts go to rich nations like the United States, Switzerland, the United Kingdom. So, once you start to really peel back the layers, you realize that a lot of this sort of prevailing news coverage of Gates is telling a story that’s not just one-sided, but just it’s wrong.”

@carnegarden Viktigt i vardagen! Delade familjekonton blir absolut en viktig grej. Tack för bra perspektiv!
A bit too many networks and platforms again. This is the one I have ignored the most.
What would you consider are the benefits of Bluesky?
Certainly not the level of engagement.
Zero responses in a month and a half… 😂 I believe that's the worst I've seen since 2004.
@mothninja Tack.
Suuupersmiiiidigt. 😅
@daniel Skriver upp det. 😁
@ambivalena Tack.
@AasaMariaHedberg
Organisations love being "data-driven" but hate spending time on quality documentation. 🤷🏻
@carl Herrej---- ! Kunde ha gått hur illa som helst ju.
Most predictions are wrong, and certainly most of the ones quoted in the financial pages of prestigious newspapers.
So don’t be afraid to make your own.
Here are mine for 2024:
– The definition of what AI is will continue to be an elusive, confusing muddle.
– Unrealistic promises of the technology will fail to materialise and trust will diminish.
– Thousands of AI startups will go belly-up.
– Musk will promise 100% full self-driving by 2025 (it’s an Earth tradition for him to push it one year every year).
– There will be more deaths by ”self-driving cars”.
– There will be advances in healthcare, transport, architecture, farming and robotics using machine learning, but this will have nothing to do with language models.
– A multitude of ongoing court cases will rule in favor of copyright holders, essentially placing a cease-and-desist on many language models.
– In a televised interview Sam Altman vill admit that while language models serve a purpose in writing reports and code faster, they are not the way forward for wicked problem-solving and autonomous intelligence.
– Research will show that school students’ capacity for creative problem solving has regressed with an increase in their use of language models..
I think most of ”The Big AI Crash of 2024” will start happening in June.
Now, what’s your prediction? 😁
«"There is nothing 'transformative' about using The Times's content without payment to create products that substitute for The Times and steal audiences away from it," Times lawyers wrote in the suit on Wednesday.»
«The suit seeks to hold OpenAl and Microsoft responsible for the "billions of dollars in statutory and actual damages that they owe for the unlawful copying and use" of the Times' articles. In addition, the Times' legal team is asking a court to order the destruction of all large language model datasets, including ChatGPT, that rely on the publication's copyrighted works.»
«Lawyers for the paper wrote in the suit: "Users who ask a search engine what The Times has written on a subject should be provided with neither an unauthorized copy nor an inaccurate forgery of a Times article."»
