I use my Ghost blogs (self-hosted) as the newsletter platform as well. So each newsletter is a blog post that is also sent out as a newsletter.

@joeldebruijn In the end I had no problem moving across followers from Mastodon to Akkoma. (works the same way as Mastodon to Mastodon instance migration and you have to redirect your old account). I did lose thousands of followers but as I’ve written about I believe those to be abandoned accounts. Which means it was probably a good thing :)
Follows works with exporting and importing a csv file.

@dudleytribune I’m not sure if you have misunderstood something. Twitter is not involved in this at all. I’m moving from a self-hosted Mastodon instance to a self-hosted Akkoma instance.
I agree about followers not being a useful metric, but the assumption here is that if someone follows me in the Fediverse they don’t want to just suddenly lose contact when an account moves to another instance.
@joho I fully agree. If people don’t feel comfortable moving around we are back to being dependent on centralisation.
@jerome Haha, amazing. Yes, it feels like it will take a few days for all this to get sorted. The follow request essentially means that that the re-follow has been queued. I don’t have approval of follows, activated, so it’s really just waiting for all those follow requests to get sorted one-by-one.

Thanks. Migration is still underway. Experiencing some hiccups due to all the followers the process is trying to carry over. Good experiment though. :)

This was the first server I ever set up from scratch in my life. And about time too.

I can send you the php file if you want (I only use php to repeat the form fields).
It's all just one file. And it still has some limitations. URLs and usernames should be set to a fixed number of characters. So requires a bit of work ;)
Thanks! Yes, it's small but that is also what intrigued me when people were saying it was possible to run on a small one.
I'll likely at least double the specs before I move the big account there. 😅
My Mastodon instance is indeed on an 8GB 4-core server, but that is also shared with a lot of other stuff that I don't want to be affected by Mastodon :)
As my support corner on this I have to ask you all, is the server supposed to be running at close to 100% RAM usage?
I've made all the optimization settings to the database and thought it would actually be requiring less RAM.
It's a 1 core, 1GB RAM machine and all I'm running is Akkoma.
Maybe it's just using all that is available, because that makes the most sense?
