@css Very cool, had not come across this variant at all before. Thank you!

If you use an iPhone I’d say download the Mona app and use that (also available for Mac and Ipad).
Find your account in your email history or create a new one ;)

Glad you appreciated it! Yeah, amidst all of Substack's issues the RSS feed is pretty much the best thing they've got going for them 😁
I'm honestly surprised they offer RSS. Almost feels like they forgot they turned it on.

That is wild… I had not seen that story before. The way it was tested is brilliant.

Never rented a movie from Blockbuster as that’s primarily an American phenomenon, though I understand one could essentially rent a movie from Blockbuster online today. Sweden also got rid of checks pretty early, so never done that.
The rest could’ve all happened in the same day.

I do miss the blogosphere. Seeing smalls signs of its revival but those could be wishful thinking.
Network effects are for me a core feature of the Internet, not reliant on closed platforms...
But I of course get what you mean…

Yes, it's out of character and upsetting. Even branding it as "Apple Intelligence" was a turn down a misguided path.

Thank you for the heads up Britt. Love seeing this image out in the wild. After it was used for the Wikipedia entry it pops up in many contexts.
Here is where the latest version of the infographic always lives, along with links to all the software mentioned:

💯 And I really recommend turning on the reminder under Accessibility Settings, so you can't publish your post without alt text.

@axbom.com: I love this Bluesky setting. It’s excellent that it’s there and that everyone can turn it on. It helps us remind ourselves that this is a community – or many communities – of people who contain multitudes.

I was pleased to find this Hello Kitty sign for tourist guidance when I was in Tokyo with my son earlier this year. 😊

💯 When I teach digital ethics students really appreciate this exercise, writing down their values – with an opportunity to discuss them with their peers. They practice articulating their goals and become better prepped when facing important decisions, incl. interviews. And I practice with them!

I was looking at one of those as well 🫣. My wife, who does not drink coffee, asked how much space I was going to take up in the kitchen 😅
