@angiebaby
D-oh, your fear, a growing fear
Ray, my laser-coupled gun
Mi, my face, now brace yourself
Fa(r), how long you’ll have to run
Sew, to fix where you have bled
La, take note of challenged foe
Tea, I’ll drink it when you’ve fled
Which will bring us back to d-oh, oh, oh, oh
Do-Re-Mi-Fa-So-La-Ti-Do, So Do.

I think we agree too. Saying "accessibility first" of course does not make it so 😁

I'd say this: Design and content should be separate, allowing presentation in a way that allows acceptable access for the user. Many people with low-vision use zoom, and the interface should not break when they do this.
But "Statistically more likely" is a dangerous assumption to lean on. 😉
With regards to assumptions about accessible mode and efficiency I have lots to say but so few characters and so little time. 😅
Accessible mode -> I’d say: give control over preferences.
Efficiency -> Not only related to speed but to making the right choice, hence hard to determine without context.
@alavi
I’m not necessarily marketing it as good ROI, but making the point that the argument being used ("it only affects 1% of users") is invalid as it assumes that a statistic that is the effect of past decisions gives any indication of what that number would be after the work is done. The effort you put in, regardless of your ROI calculations and how large of an effort you decide on, will change the percentage.
Never mind that the statistic is often just completely made up and most organisations just don’t know, adding the risk of making things worse and essentially kicking people out.
@steveportigal @metafilter I love watching these but damn it’s also nerve-racking.

Haha, only because I see it wrong more often than right.
@FeralRobots This made Toto’s Hold the Line play in my head… haha.
@jamesravey Ha, excellent. Love those bots. Reminded me of one I followed which looked at the profiles of people who tagged themselves with MAGA and pointed out when they had used the flag of Liberia rather than the United States.
(Especially dear to me as I was born in Liberia)
@EndlessMason Not far off, but my understanding is that a government backdoor generally insists on not letting you know who is entering or what they are taking part of.
@Beantin @kolombiken
They’re off on mine now as well. Thanks for noticing this so quickly! I’ll likely never be in a hurry setting up a service again. 😅
I’m still evaluating alternatives though. Now looking at this for self-hosting, but of coure requires a server separate from the one where everything else is hosted.

För mig också. Eller 10% mer möbler. Ett stolsben extra.
@Beantin @kolombiken LOL! Found a German one. https://pingping.io 😁
@kolombiken @Beantin Found this alternative in France now. Not as sleek-looking but is likely better in many ways… (on my iPad so haven’t been able to look at it in detail):

@kolombiken In the status page? Weird I never added that. Let me check! 😅
@kolombiken Damn it's hard to do the right thing when these tools sneak stuff in. 🥴
