Det är 10 år sedan (!) jag gjorde en #infografik åt nätverket för digital delaktighet (Digidel) om Digitalt utanförskap i Sverige.
Intressant: 24% i åldersspannet 36-45 år angav att de inte kan ladda upp en video.
Det är värt att påminna oss själva ibland om takten i utvecklingen.

Also interesting how many of them have resorted to introducing friction (adding questions to join forums, disabling functionality during election, etc…) when it has become too obvious that the frictionless experience can often lead to immense harm.
@ChrisJKelly Haha. The irony of all these is of course that both buttons destroy the world, just within different time frames 😬.
It’s a good example for the need for regulation as well. At what point do we decide that there is a certain level of power that we don’t want to provide to everyone…
There are many buttons that destroy the world in many different ways.
In my first #DesignEthics presentation in English, back in 2016, I advocated for friction in design.
Friction helps people make better choices by encouraging reflection and making them think through their actions.
By reducing everything to single-click actions we eliminate a lot of valuable thinking.
All platforms can benefit from design improvements. There is no end.
But it's a good idea to remember when positive friction is helping more people do the right thing.
The best video I use to illustrate the importance of design friction is this short clip from the animated film Monster vs Aliens.
In it the US president is in the war room with his advisors. In a state of despair he moves to get himself a latte by pressing the huge red button on the wall.
Everyone in the room screams to stop him. He is reminded that that button launches all nuclear weapons. The button that gets him a latte is the huge red one just beside the first one.

Fair point. I wonder if it becomes moot within the bigger context. If I know that it's enough that a person is on my instance for me to see their toot in the local TL, would I worry that I do not see it there if I'm also following?
Good job catching it. I'll add it to my backlog and have a think about that 😅. By extension: if I follow someone and they are on my instance then they will also be in the Federated TL... 😬
