Mobilförbudet pÄ den hÀr skolan ledde till en halvering(!) av mat som slÀngdes i soporna.
NÀr barnen Àr mer nÀrvarande i stunden de inmundigar sin lunch sÄ matchar deras aptit bÀttre det de lÀgger pÄ tallriken.
TÀnk att vi mÄste lÀra barn, och förmodligen mÄnga vuxna - och kanske oss sjÀlva - att kÀnna efter mer nÀr man Àter.
TÀnk vad det hÀr sÀger om att mobilen gör med oss. Jag har tÀnkt mycket pÄ mental pÄverkan, men denna direkta koppling till intag av föda hade jag inte reflekterat över.

The audacity of expecting others to spend their valuable time with content you put out there but never spent any real time thinking on.
Yesterday I more broadly introduced the thought experiment 'Schrödinger's Chat'. I wanted to make the graphic I produced available in English as well. Feel free to use it wherever you want.
This thought experiment addresses what proponents of #ChatControl stubbornly claim, that they aren't breaking encryption when they eavesdrop on, and monitor, messages sent over apps that offer end-to-end encryption.
Alas, according to the politicians the communication is hence both encrypted and unencrypted at the same time. i.e. Schrödinger's Chat.
Alarmingly, many politicians still need more education on the naïveté of this reality.
If an app offers end-to-end encryption, and the government listens in on the message you write inside the app before it has a chance to encrypt the message at the send moment, then a backdoor has been opened and whatever encryption is promised after this is deemed null and void. There is no other way to see this.
But many EU politicians also do in fact want this Orwellian nightmare to become true, charging ahead in yet another arms race with dictatorships, hoping to become the best at dismantling human rights and asserting never-before witnessed control over European citizens. As has been elsewhere noted, the East German secret police, Stasi, could only dream of this much power over its citizens' voices.
The #ChatControl proposal is still alive and kicking, after three years of debates and being voted down it keeps being reincarnated. The cat metaphor just keeps on giving.
Get to know what what is going and make more people aware. Let your politicians know what you expect from them. The many lives of Schrödinger's Chat should be coming to an end.

Example: #ChatControl monitors to expose crimes, but âdoes not break end-to-end encryptionâ.
@mpk Yes I do gather this is the loophole they are using to make their claim. At the same time, the way the apps can claim end-to-end encryption is by ensuring only the device can read the message before it is sent. So it certainly is a bit of semantical parkour. đ
The people behind #ChatControl claim that they are not breaking end-to-end encryption. At the same time, private messages on services with end-to-end encryption will be intercepted to uncover crimes.
This means that we have to seriously start talking about the thought experiment Schrödinger's chat. We can safely continue to use chat services that offer secure communication as long as we buy into the premise that the end-to-end encryption is not broken even when each message is available to a third-party service managed by the state. Yep, the secret communication from sender to recipient is both encrypted and unencrypted at the same time.
Or we ask politicians to get their act together and really understand and be honest about the mass surveillance they intend to introduce.

Eller sÄ ber vi politikerna skÀrpa till sig och pÄ riktigt förstÄ och vara Àrliga med den massövervakning som de vill införa.

Jag har personligen köpt och anvĂ€nt datorer sedan 1982, men listans utprĂ€glade fokus pĂ„ nytta och omtĂ€nksamhet berörde mig.
Jag har tagit mig friheten att formulera om delar av hans checklista samt adderat till Berrys insikter, med ambitionen att tillhandahÄlla en lista som funkar för 2020-talet.
